Proven trust
At the Law Office of Stephen L. Meador, we provide the highest level of expertise, service, and compassion when it comes to representing you and your family. Our strong command of the Texas Estates Code and Texas Trust Code makes us among the most trusted authorities when it comes to estate planning, estate administration, and trust administration. But most importantly, we truly care about helping our clients navigate the legal system so they can find peace of mind. Dealing with a death or disability in the family is not easy—but planning for the management and transfer of property after a death or disability does not have to be difficult.

Stephen L. Meador
A native El Pasoan, Stephen L. Meador has been licensed to practice law in the State of Texas for more than 30 years. He graduated from The University of Texas School of Law, where he studied Wills and Estates and Estate Planning under Professor Stanley Johanson and Trusts under visiting Professor Morris “Buzz” Arnold. Soon after graduating, Steve returned to El Paso to become a trust officer with Texas Commerce Bank (now Chase Bank of Texas). He moved across Stanton Street years later to manage the trust department of Sunwest Bank and help create Boatmen’s Trust Company of Texas (now Bank of America). During this time, he completed his MBA degree at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and eventually became a fundraiser with UTEP, creating the position of Director of Gift Planning. His knowledge of finance, law, and estate planning, combined with his personal experience being a student at UTEP, made him highly successful at this position. While still serving as Director of Gift Planning, Steve was named Associate Vice President to head up all private-source fundraising at UTEP. Under his leadership, the university received the CASE Circle of Excellence Award for Overall Fundraising for two consecutive years.
In 2011, Steve established the Law Office of Stephen L. Meador, PLLC, to offer the Texas borderland his knowledge and expertise in estate planning, trusts, estate and trust administration, and guardianships. Steve is also civically engaged, serving as Board Chair of the Huthsteiner Fine Arts Trust and as a Board Member of the J. Edward and Helen M.C. Stern Foundation.
